For nearly two decades, IndiaGate Lisboa has been a cherished destination for authentic Indian cuisine in Lisbon. Founded in 2005 by Hemant and Anita Devani, our restaurant has served as a "Gateway to Indian food", sharing our family's secret recipes and traditions with the community in Lisbon.

We are proud to welcome you to either of our two convenient locations India Gate Santos & India Gate Lisboa. Both are within the center of Lisbon, each offering the same warm, family-run atmosphere and delicious, high-quality dishes we are known for.

The name IndiaGate Lisboa was a deliberate choice by founders Hemant and Anita Devani. To them, it represents "A Gateway to Indian food" — a welcoming entry point for both locals and visitors to experience the rich and diverse flavors of India. Established in 2005, our restaurant is a testament to the Devani family's passion for sharing their heritage through food.​
Our journey began over 20 years ago with our family's cherished recipes. This family legacy is the heart of every dish we serve. Our Chefs are meticulously trained to preserve these traditional cooking methods, ensuring that every bite delivers a taste of genuine, home-cooked Indian flavour. From signature dishes like Kadai Prawn, Kadai Paneer, and the beloved Butter Chicken to special Goan delicacies like Sarapatel and Vindalho, our menu is a celebration of tradition.

We are particularly proud of our starter, the samosa. Made from a secret family recipe passed down from our father, its unique and unforgettable taste has made it a favorite among our loyal customers, who even take them back to their home countries. We are also known for our Mixed grilled Sizzelers and Grilled Dishes.

For us, our customers are family. As the Devani family says, "We have loyal customers who have been part of our family since the beginning. Now, their second generation has also joined us. It's their trust in us that makes us strong." We are also committed to serving everyone, with a wide variety of delicious vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.​
